This morning I went to the dr to receive my test results. Results: severe Scoliosis. 'back brace' or surgery. For the time being I have been placed on Athrotec + Tylenol to reduce spinal inflammation. *sob

Thank you everyone for listening to me and letting me post on your website. I wish you all the very best. I have nowhere to turn to. Just depression pills and pain killers. frown

Magician, there is no reason to leave if you feel you're receiving support and help from other members. I thought I would have to leave when I was diagnosed with RA, not AS as I originally thought. However, other kind people encouraged me to stay and it's been a lifeline.

When you got your test results, was there a suggestion that surgery could correct the scoliosis?

I am not sure how to handle this. This was not the answer I expected at all. I don't know where to turn? Lost.

Hi Magician,

You could start by looking for scoliosis support groups that might provide you some of the answers as well as support from people who understand the symptoms. Here's a website listing some scoliosis support groups including two from Canada. You profile doesn't say where in Canada you live.

I don't know. My mind totally blanked out and fogged up. Only remember my dr. increasing the Athrotec amount and also increasing the Celexa amount and him telling me to begin taking the Athrotec with my breakfast so my gut carries it through my system. I did ask him to speak in English to me, not Dr.

Also here's a website with links to other scoliosis sites. Might be something helpful here:

What was the reason for increasing Celexa? That is an anti-depressant that I also take. Did he prescribe an increase because he feared you would become more depressed by this diagnosis or for some other reason>

I asked for the increase. I am on 10 mg. I asked him to double it.
