If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I'm so sorry it's hit you like this. Hopefully, in a few days, you'll begin to adjust to the idea and start your new journey of finding answers to your questions and things won't seem so bad.

Here's one more link that might be helpful. It's to the scoliosis research society. Had a quick skim and there seems to be lots of information there. http://www.srs.org/

Magician, Sorry to hear the results of your test. I know how it feels to have to ask for something for depression. When i first started to get sick i was on celexa and it did wonders for me, but my pain was not as bad then. I also had back surgery a lumbar fusion which they also discovered scoliosis and inserted a rod only on lumbar would not go to t-spine. It took 3yrs of rehab to be able to function and that was with painkillers as well I have been on them for 4yrs now. I went off my anti-depressants thinking i could which i did ok, til i was in a car accident pain like never before. I broke down a couple of months ago i can't even function with pain meds anymore i guess my body is building a tolerance so i begged for an anti-depressant my doc just hug me and put me on lexapro. It did really good within couple weeks but i feel it needs to be increased. If you decide to have surgery are you going with a neursurgeon or a spine specialist who specializes in ortho as well as nerve issues. Mine was a spine specialist out of 5dr that could not find anything wrong, after 2yrs he found ruptured discs but missed the s.i joints inflammation and now left side is completely fused and scoliosis has gotten worse. Rheumy i was with for 5yrs missed it has well, and the only reason she found it is because i fianlly put my foot down and told her this is my body something is not right. I always left there with dx of severe fibro and elevated ra factor which was never high enough to treat vs. the side affects. I am right there with you just the pills, but i came across this website and it has helped knowing that there ar other people like me out there with all types of different chronic pain issues. It may be your whole body or just your knee or what ever part it is and it Hurts Hope you start to feel better soon

so sorry to see how upset you are right now but others are correct, use us for support if you need to. and each day will get easier, i've been through the ups and downs so many times, and no matter how bad things get, somehow they always manage to turn around. and it looks like wendy has supplied you with a number of potentially useful sites, she is wonderful that way no matter how much pain she is in, always thinking of others. so many here are like selfless like that.

Heigh my lassie. Big (((HUGS))). Wendy has found some greast sites to go investigate - looked at two of em, and was amazed to read that Liza Minelli has scoliosis and Jo-Jo Mar (the cellist). Many others, who are unknown to 'me'. In the UK there is a V. well known woman with her own TV show on 'healthy eating'. (Hopeless with names, always forget em) but she has really bad scoliosis deformity. Dresses well to disguise, to such an extent that it took me several programmes to spot...think in fact that it was when summat or other slipped, perhaps a shawl? But she is amazing. Know that the KA family here will be piling in to help you -

Hi Magician, Im sorry you got such a horrible result I like many on here have severe Kyphosis I also have slight Scoliosis getting the results can be a real shock give your self a bit of time to except it. There is no need for you to stop posting or coming here if it helps you. You are welcome and will get the same help and respect we all get. I would also look at the sites that Wendy told you about and Im sure you will find one that will help. I know there are people with AS and severe Kyphosis on some of them. You might learn things that will help some of us on here. Please dont feel lost we are all here even if we only listen to you Venting.

Laurie, thank you for such a good reply. Athrotec has enabled me to sleep for 8 hours. Before that I was sleeping a minimum 2 hours every night. Always in such pain. I honestly have no idea at this point which type of surgeon I'll have to go with. I feel I should go see the Rheumie again as he was the one who really paid attention to me. He will become a valued member of my 'team'.

I agree. This site is very compassionate. Right now feeling like 'what just happened?' I have been half heartedly working on client's web sites trying to distract myself from woe is me thinking. Sure is hard when the music stops playing not to dwell in self pity.
I know my new path will be very long and difficult but does promise light at the end of the dark tunnel. (That must be the Celexa talking.) The real Magician is busy covering her windows with black paper.
