If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I am wondering if I should be taking any supplements or vitamins and minerals, whilst I am following the NSD. I'm not too sure where to start... I'd very much appreciate any ideas on this, thanks.

Hey Tink - Watch out for starches in supplements, but there's alot of posters that can recommend starch free brands and several old posts that cover what some recommend. Here's what I take, when i remember:) -
Calcium/Vit. D liquid cap from Sundown Naturals/1200 mg cal., 1000iu D3 L-glutamine I'm trying various probiotic supps. Borage Seed Oil capsule And Last but Definitely not least - Fish Oil.
I just switched to a good Omega 3 product, Nordic Naturals Liquid Omega, and I have to say I feel the best I have in months. I'm doing other things too - gone stricter NSD, started a stretching and breathing program called the Miracle Ball Method (i'm a sucker for gadgets) If I had to put money on any of it, I'd say its the omega 3's that have helped me out of the rut. But as my husband told me: Don't Change Your Underwear - Meaning stick with it all if its working.

Thanks Mary Cay I appreciate your advice and will heed your starch in supplements warning. Interesting about the Omega 3 that has had a noticable effect on you. The stretching and breathing program sounds fantastic! I am addressing my stretching regime but breathing is so beneficial too - especially as I get quite stressed sometimes! I like Yoga a lot and need to try and find a good class (hopefully not one that will chuck me out if I can't keep up though... did you read that post?) I am into gadgets too - but one piece of advice - DO NOT go anywhere near a mandolin (one of those veggie choppers) I sliced some of my thumb off a couple of weeks ago - trying to make a NSD "lazagne" layered with sliced veg instead of pasta.. ended up layering it with my body parts!!!!!! They are lethal!! As for your last comment - if your washing machine is working, I would say change your underwear!! Sorry, it's late and I get a bit silly when I'm tired!!! LOL

i'm chuckling - hubby played college baseball so I'm sure that's where the underwear comment came from, winning streaks and such. He even wore the same lucky fishing shirt with the birth of all our kids - by the time the 3rd came around, the shirt was in shreds and he needed another t-shirt underneath, but still wore it!
The breathing excercises are quite simple too - one of them: Inhale through you mouth and when you exhale make a "S" sound as loud as comfortable. I'm realizing I hold my breath alot, tensing up and such - doesn't help with the pain at all; so these excercises are great. Take care and if you find a supplement regimen you feel is helpful or not, keep us posted. Mary Cay
Wanted to add - checkout the post on Omega 3's/Fish oils - i believe its in helpful hints? good info

Hee hee hee! Thanks for the advice. I hold so much tension in my neck and shoulders - I know I would benefit from doing breathing exercises. I am pretty tense now actually. I need to work on posture and breathing big time. Will keep you posted indeed! Take care and thanks so much for your comments

Hi, Tinkerbell:
VitBcomplex almost daily is important. VitC, vitE, niacin (and niacinamide), and lysine for healing. Calcium (sometimes I take strontium instead), magnesium citrate, boron, chelated copper, chelated zinc, and vitD for both intestinal and bone health. Very important to get 11g total EFA (Essential Fatty Acids) including GLA (Gamma Linoleic Acid) from borage seed oil but fish (cod liver oil), flax, and other oils are also important; these help reduce inflammation and also help to transport nutrients into cells, as well as coat the tract and promote healing directly. EFAs can reduce dryness of Sjogren's-like symptoms.
HEALTH, John
Good to eat intestine-builders like okra, lychee fruit, and yoghurt (in very small quantities until dairy is tolerated; after some intestinal healing).
