I had it from taking too much aspirin many years ago. I hope you find the cause and get it taken care of, I understand how frustrating it can be.

Oddly , and on a rare serious note, it was a guitarist (allegedly) that caused mine. We were practising for the staff party, he was a terrible player but good on the volume knob and up it went The sound that penetrated my ear was indescribable; lughole rang immediately and has been hissing and ringing ever since......mind you as recompense, I killed the guitarist and ate him, then I had a ritual bonfire.......

"Mine really isn't a ringing, more of a whooshing / roaring. Today noise has felt like it's reverberating in my head, which has definitely made any concentrating difficult. Sometimes the ear feels full or like there's a load of pressure inside it. Sometimes it hurts"

Oh Jeanna - Now I was going to say I've just started the SSZ - been about 6/7 weeks now, and aside from the fact that I feel like my head is full, I can't really say I've had tinnitus...
But your description fits me to a "t".
The whooshing/roaring is constant and it's driving me insane!
I figured I just had a nagging sinus infection or the like...but my actual nasal passage are clear as clear can be.
And given that I'm a migraine sufferer, I used that to explain away the head noise too. (even though I take a migraine preventative that has been working really well for over a year now)
Soooooo - perhaps we're onto something together here. And I am sad too - because, I think the SSZ was just starting to provide some pain relief.
Yikes...

Oh no Pro - not you too.
Boo tinnitus
Boo side effects.
Hope we can figure it out without having to go off the sulfa.

Hey Jeanna,

I can't remember a time I didn't have the dreaded ringing. And although I play the guitar, it wasn't from that because it is my firm belief that the worse a person is at playing the guitar, the louder he plays it. To the point of cannibalism apparently.

I'm also no help since I never took SSZ. Althought my lovely wife tells me that I do ZZs on occasion.

Oh yeah, and speaking of guitars, there is alway ZZ Top.

Dean

I started having tinnitus when i was around 15 - came and go, but around 20's came and staied - now i am 31. You learn to get used to it since no other option is available. I've been around 3 months on SSZ. It got worse, but I was worse as a hole under SSZ, so don;t know if SSZ was the cause. Anyway, it's still with me - at different intensities.

I was starting to believe it has to to with my inflamation levels in general - when worse the intensity seem to increase, but it could be only a psychical effect.

Hi Jeanna,

"Mine really isn't a ringing, more of a whooshing / roaring. Today noise has felt like it's reverberating in my head, which has definitely made any concentrating difficult. Sometimes the ear feels full or like there's a load of pressure inside it. Sometimes it hurts (but realise that may very well be bc I keep sticking my finger in it trying to "unblock" it)"

I had ear problems for many years. This last 7 years I had ringing, off and on, not even sure what causes the ringing. My dr. at the time suggested, possible aspirin, and high blood pressure.

After many infections Drs. are always saying my ears are very red, most times I don't feel the pain from the infection.

I have just noticed more pain this past year in my ears. I have noticed after flushing my ears out that they become presurized - hard to hear out of as well. Sticking my finger in to try to "unblock" them does not work. Two or three days of this presure, the pain is gone, and so is the blocked feeling. Most times this feeling is only in my right ear.

Hugs
Gerri
