If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Bridget, detoxing from alcohol by itself cand and usually does lead to deep hypoglycemia since the body is used to processing alcohol, which contains lots of simple sugars and carbs.
So going into detox, which is horrendously physically stressful, kicks the insulin producing glands into overdrive. It's a big contributiong factor in precipitating withdrawal seizures.
At the very least, paramedical supervision of his detox would be a really good idea, since barbiturate and alcohol withdrawal tie for most dangerous. Opiate withdrawal isn't even close. Allow him access to however many sweets he can keep down. Same goes for orange juice, and keep pouring in the B vitamins. It will help Cody a lot. If an MD can prescribe him some Atarax that's often helpful also.
AVOID VALIUM AND OTHER BENZODIAZEPINES AT ALL COST!!!!!
Valium and alcohol, even in withdrawal, is terribly, terribly dangerous.
I've detoxed a lot of problem drinkers and alcoholics. I'll PM my phone #; feel free to call and ask anything you like.

thank you so much guys! he's not ready to start weaning down yet, but at least he's limited to 1 pint/day. Today he's stuck either in bed or bathroom, I gave him a glucerna shake and some cashews. So we've missed another flea market, and the weather's beautiful today. grrrrrr
