If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Anyone else have this issue with groin pain? I went to the doc because I was worried about it, and several tests later and examination and he says, it's the AS causing the hips/Sac joints to pull on muscle, inflame, radiate, etc. Just when I thought I knew where the pain was going to come from and now pain in my junk! Wow.

AS is literally a pain in the AS!!! In this area alone, I get back pain, sacro iliac (butt) pain, lateral hip pain from the trochanteric bursitis and groin and innner leg pain that travels to my foot when things get really bad! Sad to say it's just one of the myriad of places that can hurt us - thankfully the pain shifts around, so it's not usually *everywhere* at the same time for me...

I see a manual physical therapist and he is able to loosen things that are tight and painful and causing radiating pain to other locations.
i have had a headache/migraine since Tuesday and he worked my neck over and the muscles on the back of my head, a little in upper shoulders.....magical.
Not all PT's are manually trained. Some just teach you exercises which are also good, but the manual stuff has helped me soooooooo much. I also go home with homework exercises to do to, like to strengthen my neck and abs and legs etc.

Yeah, I get pain along my inner thigh where my leg meets my pelvis. That was the most politically correct way to describe the location. LOL! It feels muscular and improves with stretching.

I have a sensation that almost feels like a lump or something pressing really hardin that kind of area, as well as some wicked nerve pains on occasions.

I had severe groin pain the last yr. or so before I had my right hip replaced. Have not had any since, and that was in 97. J.R.

It is the SI or hip joints that are inflamed.
And yes when I'm flaring the morning wake up call of pain is exactly like a kick in the balls.

Groin pain can also come from problems in the lumbar spine. I have several kinds of groin pain. One from the damage in the lumbar spine, one from my hip, and one from pevic joint problems. It's awful isn't it. Cindy

Referred pain in my groin was one of the first indications i had AS. I also got pain in my lower buttocks (a classic symptom in males i believe). This all emerged about 1-2 years after i took up regular running.

I also go home with homework exercises to do to, like to strengthen my neck and abs and legs etc. He he - yeah, I love my physio (manipulative therapist) - if I had the spare $ I would see him once a week at least - he could start at the top of my spine and just work on a different bit every time, then restart at the beginning! My silly daughter asked "why can't you do your *own* physio, Mum???"... I said "well, I can't get my hands around to my back"....so she says "Look - I can!" Of course, if I could too, then I wouldn't need a physio! But seriously, I can't believe what he does for my rib and thoracic and neck pain and stiffness!!! I think when you've had the inflammation going on as long as I have that it's only natural that there is a considerable mechanical component there, too. Of course, spondys need *regular* spinal XRs, and a physio who understands the difference between PASSIVE MOBILISATION (non forced, non thrusting rhythmic movements) and MANIPULATION! ...and, of course - manual PT therapists DO!
