For those that have AS. I would like to know if you were breast fed as a baby & what your blood type is?

Lisa, do you know your kids' blood types? I only know the blood type of my older ones who have given blood and shared the info with me.

I breastfed 5 of my 9 kids for a minimum of 6 months each and there is no correlation between those who were or weren't and those who are showing signs of AS.

I have wondered about the whole breastfeeding thing too. Thank you for asking the question.

I was not breastfed. type B+

I did breastfeed all 3 of mine.

The oldest (age 13) only did for 5 months. She now shows signs of AS. Tries to do ALL sports, already shows signs of aggravated inflammation in feet and sometimes other areas when she attempts a lot of physical activity.

The other two for 12 months. No signs of AS. Kind of too early to tell, maybe.

Orphanage first eighteen months until adopted, so, no.

Type O+. As are all four of my kids and both grandkids.

Hi Skywalker, I am A+, both my sons are A+. Both my sons showed AS symptoms between the age of 16-21. I was not breast fed. My oldest son wasn't breast fed and youngest was. Oldest son showed signs of AS at 16, and the youngest whom I breast fed showed signs later about 21, he also had menigitis at 18 months of age.

Hugs
Gerri

I've always wanted to ask this because I believe breastfeeding is so beneficial. The baby gains the immunity of the mother and when they are newborn they can see best what is about 12-18 inches away which is the mother's face & the light in the mother's eyes.
My mother was 16 when she had me, she kept her pregnancy a secret until the 6th month, her parents wanted to abort me but she was so far along they decided on adoption, so I was unfortunately not breastfed.
I met her when I was 20 and her son which she did breastfeed and he has ulcerative colitis, so that blew my theory on autoimmune diseases an d breastfeeding.I'm sure we that were not breastfed have a higher probabilty of getting autoimmuine diseases.
I have RA, but lately I think I have AS due to all the lower back pain and I get releif with the NSD.

Diet change has improved my RA. I feel best eating raw veggies and some fruits and avoiding grains, sugars, nightshades, beans and dairy. Sed rate dropped from 65 to 19, but it took over a year.

I was and am hlab27+. My brother wasn't and is negative. Hmmm. I have AS and pretty sure he does too but he won't go to the doc.

I breastfed both of my boys. The youngest has my stomach problems.

Have no idea what my blood type is. My eyes are green and I like sunsets and milkshakes. :-)
