If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

No families take so little medicine as those of doctors, except those of apothecaries.

Good post!
I remember a guy a couple of years ago here on KA who would take long walks in the sun and drink a lot of milk. He had amazing results with regard to his AS.

Good post, I'll have to go to the pool more often....darn.
Diet change has improved my RA. I feel best eating raw veggies and some fruits and avoiding grains, sugars, nightshades, beans and dairy. Sed rate dropped from 65 to 19, but it took over a year. www.fatsickandnearlydead.com excess fat/oils = pain for me recipes for raw food on Youtube "raw food romance" and "healing josephine" Josephine is in remission from RA after two years by change diet/exercise

When I had my first VitD test done a couple of years ago, it was 8. Rheumy started me on the high-dose supplement. Within a week or two, I felt diffusely better. That was the only change I had made during that time, so I chalk it up to the supplementation of D, which I still take.

I have too low Vitamin D levels as well. Doc put me on Vitamin D supplements, and although my pains are not that much better, at least not yet, I have a marked improvement in fatigue.

I would add that it was an improvement at the time, diffusely I felt better, but could not put a finger on a specific thing that was better. All the usual things still hurt. Glad you are feeling less fatigued, gilth.

Did anyone's doctor try to figure out why you were so low in Vitamin D?

Good one Steve - I knew nothing of Vit-D levels until I fell over it on the osteoporosis site! Then, asked my doctor to add it to my blood levels list. Surprise... came back as 9! That was earlier this year, in Feb. Have been supplementing since - 100,000iu per 4 weeks (No I cannot sunbath). Last count, six weeks ago, was at 37 - still supplementing. Need to get to between 65 and 80. Due another bloods levels next week - for my cardi appt. What gets to me, surprises me, is, that no single doctor or rheumy had called for a check on my D3. IF 'I' had not asked, then my D3 would have got lower and lower still - to the point of rickets, totally soft bones and further problems! Shakes head. Got to be MORE than proactive nowadays - no one has the same interest in you, than you! (Blasted tedious runaround). TG for the internet!

I'm trying!
When i take ~6000-7000 IU a day, my levels go down.
When i take ~10,000 - 12,000 IU a day, my levels go down.
Trying to figure out a steady state.
My levels over the last few years has gone between 30 and 65, down and up and down and up and....... since 2008 or 2009.
I know when my bowels get bad where i'm not digesting my food, my D levels go down pretty quickly.
Also, I've read that D gets processed by the liver. And I know I have a fatty liver. That would explain why my D levels are low even during / at the end of a summer out in the mid day sun, a lot. But at least taking large doses seems to work.
At least high enough levels are readily available without prescription these days; not so even a few years ago.
