Hey zark!! Hope you're feeling well. Im going through a bad iritis attack and Im sure it's because of a reaction to caramel. I found out I cant have flan cause that triggers my iritis. However, two days ago I made a small chocolate cake (with almond flour) that had butter and sugar. I think that might have also triggered the eye infection. Also, I started making chocolate bars using cacao butter and sugar, do you think this can trigger a similar effect? Thanks

Yep definitely have reacted to caramel, creme brûlée, and flans before!

I used to use Rutin to knock down any iritis (and also some inflammation in my hands, knees, and feet), but that was before I ditched dairy and went full NSD. Rutin is a plant derived antioxidant, but isn't to be used by pregnant women - it could spike adrenaline levels if you have too much (it is an adrenaline sparing antioxidant), and that could bring on labour

I find that when I feel iritis coming on I eat a few dates (I chose medjoul) and it has gone away before I needed treatment. Maybe worth a try?
