Thanks Cheryl.
Although sleeping in that camp is very difficult for me, I had a great time and it certainly has brought a smile to my face. Last year at the very same time, I never thought that I would have made it this year because of the pain I was going through at that time. I'm just so happy that Enbrel is helping me get through days as an almost normal way!
That fish fry...hhhhmmmm... must admit it was good though. The funny thing is that I never gain weight when I go there. And the only place to take walks is in the forest and there are too many branches for that. the 1-2 hour naps in the afternoons were always good also.
Take care,
mars

Hey Ann!!!
I usually don't bring my camera on these trips (just my cam corder), but since I had promised pics for you, well I did. I'm kind of glad I did now cuz I can share them with many people. This was my 15th year going there and I have videotapes of every one of them. When I look back to the first video, I can see how much we've all changed.
It was a wonderful trip and I think I'll try going again this summer.
Take care,
mars

Hi Mars.
I Love that picture!!! That is too funny.
I hated fishing as a kid, would go fishing on the river or the lake with my brothers and never had the patience for it. Then when I was 15 I went ocean fishing and caught the only two fish I have ever caught in my life....(other than the gold fish so I could clean his tank )
My first one was a 25lb king salmon. the second one was 15lbs .... but can't remember if it was a sea bass or a ling cod....and Dad is probably sleeping so can't call him to ask... he always remembers for me .. (you can tell how much up on fishing I am ) I would love to go again, but don't know if I would have the strength to reel one like that in again. I was sore all day the next day... he (the 25lb king) fought hard. I think I went around that boat 3 times, over and under others poles trying to keep that bugger. But those grilled salmon steaks that weekend were well worth it

Ok that is my long winded fishing story....(good thing I only went once )

Have a great day

Pam

Hi JP!!
Wipe your face huh???
I had a great trip! At this time of year, all hell breaks loose and I eat like a pig. Never gain weight though.
As for them poor fishies, just about as soon as we clean them, we eat them... we do keep the big ones to bring home to prove to our wives that we did go fishing!!

Yes Glen, we all had a great time. Fresh fish just caught is the best time to eat them. The ones I bring home, my wife usually makes her fish soup with them. It's almost like a clam chowder but with pike and/or walleye. Yummy...
Hope you have as good a time as I have when you go up Northern Michigan!

Hey Bud!!!
Funny you mention the dress thing!!! Actually, last year, one of the gang did dance for us to the music of, none other than our very own Shania Twain. The guys had a few drinks and since I don't drink, I'm always ready to get that on film.
Good thing I can only put pics here cuz the videos throughout the 15 yrs are a real comedy show. Always someone doing something stupid!
As for the cold, it was only cold the first 3 days. After that, it warmed up and we had only sweatshirts on.

Well Sandi!!
The day we left, we couldn't fly in cuz of the bad weather so we drove the 5 hours it takes instead of the 1 hour plane ride. The plane did join us 2 days later and we were able to fly around to different lakes. These trips are far better (in my mind) than any trips taken south. I'm not much of a sun person. Must be cuz I'm already bright!
Besides the bacon, fish and fries, the other guys drink beer. I can't cuz of meds I take so I drink my Diet Sprite. As for chocolate, YUCK! I don't like chocolate but it's just as well cuz I can't take caffeine.
All guys is right. This is MY week off. Although my wife says it gives her and the girls a week off from me also.
Take care,
mars

Hi Hope,
We did have fun and Northern Quebec is one of the best fishing places I've been. HHHMMM, maybe cuz it's the only place I've been.
We always eat as much as we want and we do bring some home. Although this year was the worst in 15 yrs of fishing there. I asked this old Indian fellow friend of mine if he knew why and he told me it was because of drastic wind direction changes. But we had fun and that's what matters to me. The only problem is that I come home with some fish and my wife and kids want to eat some. I refuse and tell them that I've been eating fish for a week now and I need a break. Doesn't always work!
