If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hey Michelle , I have some kind alergy where I feel my nose start stopping up and sometimes my eyes start to water and then I sneez and sneez sometimes as many as 20 times and then its over . I think it is an airborne alergy of some kind but it is not seasonal , I never have connected it to anything specific . My food intolerances are much better since I have cut out most refined starches . Thanks for the info on the CLA , I may just try some of it . Talk Later. Bruce

No allergies, no endo, so not much help here My husband was allergic to quite a few things but didn't have AS, I'm allergic to nothing that I know of (except ampicillin) and have allergies. I've also heard another reason we have so many people with allergies these days is that we're too clean, too dust free, too careful about pet dander, and that children do not build up an immunity by being exposed to these allergens at an early age. Just another theory. Allergies breed other allergies, as I have found out since I've been dealing with a very allergic dog, her allergies have gone from meat proteins (chickens, beef and lamb) to dust mites and on to mold and just about everything that grows in Florida - - which is why she is now on allergy shots Cheryl Dogs love it when you leave your clothes on the floor

Interesting post! I have never had allergies, yet my AS pain grows greatly with intake of wheat or gluten (particularly in modified food starch form) My doc ran a blood test for allergies (RAST) and I have heard nothing so I assume it was negative. Darla

I have had asthma & rhinist since I was a kid - both are triggered by dust mites (big time!) and animal hair (dog, duck feather)
My asthma has been almost non-existant ever since I started spraying my bed with eucalyptus oil & swapping my pillow every month. I put the pillow in a cupboard for a month or so and they come out allergen free - no kidding. Obviously the allergen is degraded fairly quickly.
fun fact: the dust mite allergen is actually its feces, which contain a potent skin disolving enzyme (to digest your shedded skin)
Oh yeah, there was some research (in australia?) where they were comparing the rate of asthma in kids vs how long they were breast fed. Naturally they were expecting babies that were breast fed longer to be protected. Unfortunately this proved not to be the case!! The research to date shows that babies who are breast fed longer have an increased risk of asthma diagnosis. Now I could suggest that this could be extended to cows milk ?? hmmmm ??

Michelle, The only allergy or anything going on is I am allergic to Iodine and seafood but supposedly those two go together because of the iodine content in seafood funnily enough. Only found that out last year - none others that I know off. Good luck compiling the info. Cheers Jo

If you do suffer from allergies I highly recommend getting a skin test by an allergy specialist. It really helped set me straight about where my allergies originated from. And I can now manage my allergies by removing the trigger - instead of taking a lifetime course of drugs. now I can say goodbye to ventolin, beconase, rhinocort, pseudoefedrine, intal, becotide, theodur, nebulisers, blah blah blah....
:-) yay

Interesting thread.
I have only two airborne type allergies, the pollen from pine trees and the usual kinds of perfume used by little old ladies who have lost their sense of smell.
Just one food allergy though, PARSNIPS, and they makes me extremely sick 30 minutes after I eat them. Every five years, from the age of 10, I would keep on trying to eat these veggies to see if they would still make me sick. I gave up trying when I was 45. Too bad, I liked the taste.
A couple of months ago, my oldest son, his wife and his year and a half year old son went to a friends house for dinner. Steve had to phone me with the news that my grandson takes after me in two ways, he is real cute for his age and, parsnips make him very sick.
Anyone out there who can eat parsnips without being sick???

Good info so far. For me not much airborne allergy except the occaisional sneeze from dust-mite and in heaviest pollen time. One sea-food - clam, i have a disastrous reaction too, but since i've stopped meds and gone strict NSD i'm discovering the marginal ones which trigger a flare or give total body discomfort. Normally my (daily) medication would disguise the specific effects. First it was avacado, then beer (probably gluten) and i'm lactose intolerant. I expect more food allergies to surface in AS/Crohns people as leaky guts must be prone to all sorts of allergy-type reactions. Ted proAS_KickAS

Allergic to iodine & shellfish. Also sulpha drugs. Was allergic to wasp stings as a child, but outgrew that one. No endometriosis that I know of. Blood test for allergies (ige??)was negative. Had a skin test years ago and reacted to everything on it, although the only things on the test that make me sneeze or wheeze are dust and mold.
