Diet has been key to managing flares for me. I've been on NSD for 1 1/2 years, and every time I have become inflamed in my sacrum during this time, has been related to eating starches or overdoing it physically, usually in the garden.

Most other pains and illnesses I have come from eating sugars (even fruit, dairy, chocolate, etc). When I eliminate the sugars, I eliminate these problems.

I was in chronic pain for about 2 years before starting the diet, so I don't believe I have too much damage, only mild sacroiliitis. But during that time, it did slowly work its way up to more bad days then good, till they were pretty much all bad.
