I don't take Enbrel so what I'm about to say may not be reliable.
Enbrel is an antibody treatment directed against TNF and raised in an animal like hamsters. Hamster immunoglobulin is a foreign protein to us so often patients will develop antibodies against hamster immunoglobulins and so the patient will effectively become refractory to Enbrel after a period.
Hopefully people who take the biologics will know more about this scenario and be able to give more details relating to the loss of effectiveness of Enbrel.
