If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Yup, Celebrex is pretty standard fare for us. I've been on Vioxx for the last six months, but am switching to Mobic because my stomach is reacting to the Vioxx. All three are the same type of drug, but some work for some people and some don't. Sounds like you're having an allergic reaction to me. If you're lucky the new rheumy might put you on one of the DMARDS. They are much better for us in many ways. They all have their own side effects, so you might want to check out the AS Pharmacy, or search them on the net for info. But they are better, to my mind, than having our stomachs eaten. It's pretty overwhelming when you get diagnosed. First, there's relief because finally your pain has a treatable cause. Then there are a whole bunch of other reactions, that all kind of mix together. Just take it one day at a time, keep breathing and learn your exercises to keep yourself mobile and flexible, OK? Do your research and make sure you have a set list of questions and concerns that you can ask the rheumy when you go in. It's really important that you become informed so that you can make sure your caregiving team is working effectively for you. And definitely add massage to your treatment plan. If you can relax those muscles it'll help take the strain off and make the pain easier. Hugs, Kat "I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work." - Thomas Edison

trish--hello, welcome, I wanted to let you know that I developed an allergy to sulfazalazine, which my doc said contraindicated celebrex use. So if you are allergic to any sulfa meds/antibiotics, get off the celebrex. Thought that might be useful. Vioxx worked the best for me, but it made me gain almost 10lbs, so I'm trying to find something else....good luck! If you need to vent, you can pm me too. I've only had a diagnosis officially for abou 7-8 mos....it gets tough sometimes, with friends and family.

Trica,
Hi welcome to the KickAS family. I'm sure you are both releived and a bit shocked at your diagnosis and no doubt you've had a ordeal getting to this point.
We are all different and there are a number of reasons why you have tremor or other neurological problems. In fact the same thing was said to me about MS a few years ago just prior to be diagnosed with a similar condition to AS. the treatment for As and some lifestyle changes have eased the more worrying symptons.
I find it more helpful not to beat around the bush Some do get MS, but it is more common for the AS inflammation or damage to be causing the problem. Your Dr.s will probably if they have not already done so a full workup to determine what the cause is.
Some like you only get diagnosed after trauma. Many of us also have marginal elevations on blood tests.
Your rheumy will be very important. I suggest you learn as much as you can. When you are newly diagnosed it can be a bit overwhelming, a lot of the bad compications are rare.
Good Luck!
David
