There were lots of conflicting information flying in the media today about Natalee.

There were reports that Natalee's body was found today and that her father was taken to the site to identify his daughter's remains before the press was notified so that he, and the family, could have some time with Natalee before the media was involved.

On our local (Birmingham AL) news, the family stated that no such event happened but Natalee's father, now divorced from her mother, expressed that Natalee's mom is not doing well. Natalee's brother and step-brother remained in the lobby of their of the hotel to ensure that the privacy of their respective parents were intact. Today speaks volumes about this family..however the family is compromised.

Whatever your personal beliefs or location in the world, please support this family in your thoughts, prayers, fairy dust.... light a candle, say a Hail Mary, do the rain dance...whatever....

Natalee could have been from ANY child visiting ANY country in the world outside her own country. If she had been a child from Aruba visiting New York City or Washington DC to celebrate her graduation, I would hope that US citizens would be on the lookout for her and do everything within their power to find and protect this child, and in the event that it was discovered that there was foul play, that justice would prevail for the ones responsible.

Please keep Natalee and her family close to your heart!!

PS A little minor disclaimer from me...

I originally posted Natalee's story in the #1 because KICKAS.org IS an international site and she was missing from a country that welcomed visitors from countries all over the world. With all the support that I have received from this site, I felt that most members of KA would understand that I posted this story in the main forum BECAUSE of KA's internationality.. there might be someone from our site on holiday or vacation in Aruba that might be able to offer the family some assistance in Natalee's safe return. I hope you all understand---Holly

I heard on the radio today (Saturday) that one of the 3 young men in custody has confessed to killing her. I am so saddened to hear this. The Aruban authorities are not revealing much at all.

Prayers for the family as they deal with such a tragedy.

The news reports on the major news..like CNN..MSNBC...FOX...have all had to repeatedly recant early reports of Natalee's body being found.

Our local news, which includes daily interviews from Natalee's family remaining in Alabama, has said that family in Aruba has passed no such knowledge to the Alabama family.

Also, the lawyer of the Jaron van der Sloot, the 17 yr old arrested, emphatically denies that his client had any part in Natalee's disappearance. To be fair, Jaron is only seventeen years old. His mother believes in his innocence as much as Natalee's mom believes in hers.

I will remain open-minded until there is sufficient information to change my mind. Only time will tell the outcome. It is my hope that we see Natalee tearfully embracing her parents when all is said and done!!

Let's all keep our fingers crossed!!

i am crushed by what's happening to Natalee's family. i fear for her mom. i'm not sure i could have handled it either.

Amen to that. I've heard the recants on the radio this morning. There's still hope and prayers for her safety...

My heart goes out to the family.... I'LL KEEP THEM IN MY PRAYER AND THOUGHTS ..I THINK NOT ONLY OF MYSELF BUT OTHERS....FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN SORROW AS THE DAYS GO BY WILL FIND PEACE AND REST....

and this has what to do with AS? This was suppose to be a support network for those suffering from AS, not missing teenagers.

Do you know how many people go missing in the world each day?

Yes I feel bad for her family, but if I spent all my time worrying and feeling bad for all those who have troubles and such, I would have no time or energy to focus on what is the most important in my life.

My family. My friends. The things that directly affect my life.



My opinion, keep this stuff where it belongs, in your emails, private messages and so forth, it has nothing to do with the meaning or reason that KickAS was created.

This place is going to pot.

I think that the outpouring of posts from ASKickers about this missing girl is a measure of the collective compassion from those at this site. KickAS has not suffered in any way from taking the time to send these messages of hope to whoever may be looking at our site.

I sincerely hope that you, as a parent, never have to go through such an ordeal but if it ever did happen, you can be sure that KickAS will be there for you with as much support as you can handle.

i always try to make sure any unusual topic is easily seen on the original subject line... therefor the topic is obvious & easy to recognize. i think it's really sad, for instance... if i wrote "ideas for Christians" & you're not a Christian... for pete's sake... ignore it!!

Hi all,
I agree with George, this has not offended me at all. And I do not watch the news, or read the papers.I live in Canada, and I will spread the word here. My prayers go out to her family and I have friends who will put them in their prayers too.
