Hello everyone!! I bought a generator today and pluged in my fridge, and when I woke up tonight I pluged in my computer. I have a new respect for electricity!! My family is safe and my house is mostly safe. We are truely blessed compared to everyone else. My brother came down and picked up my mother to take her to his house. She has been going to work with me. The hospital has let us bring family to work, and she has been going in and sleeping in a corner of the ER while I work. I hope to get electricity in a few weeks. I need some roof repairs first - a pesky pine tree wanted to come in the house with us.  Thankyou all for the lovely messages. We have no TV and little access to news. The computers are down at work, no TV at the hospital or at home, so most of you have seen more and probably know more about what is going on than we do. The phone line is now working all the time - for a time my sister could call me from West Virginia but I couldn't call farther than 20 miles away. I am going to spend the next few minutes looking at the news web sites and then I am going to sleep....oh yes, I also plugged in a fan.  I only hope the rest of the KA family involved in this mess has fared as well as I have. Thanks to you all. Candace

Yay!  It is such a huge relief to know that you and your family are all safe, Candace!!!  Glad your home is mostly intact and that you'll have electricity back sometime soon, also. Using a generator to check in on KA... wow, that's gotta be a first. Hugs!  mig

Very glad to see you back and things are not as worse as they could be, this is great news!
Hopefully life can return to norm sooner than later, but main thing is that you and family are safe and sound. Very good to hear from you.
