I know how you feel. Could do a lot of come on pull yourself together stuff, but that doesn`t really help, does it?
the world seems to whizz by at 100 miles an hour and we`re left standing- but wait a minute, we are all standing here together!
A sense of faliure is relative- are you abusive to your family? do you go out of your way to hurt peoples feelings? no? then you`ve got just as much right to be on this earth as anyone.
Hang in there Scotty, you moose. If you die, I`ll kill ya! I`m angry about something nearly all the time, show me that corner and I`ll crawl in there with you. I`d even give you a hug if I wasn`t English.

Scotty, honey, I've been there too. The fear, the anger, the intense sadness, the pain that never ends, rolling on your bed like a rotisserie trying to get sleep, no energy, exhaustion.

Three years ago I was convinced that I was a horrible person. I was having tantrums and taking my anger out on people who totally didn't deserve it. Scotty, it was horrible. I'd been in pain for years and you'd think that finding out there was a reason for that pain would have made it easier. And it did for a while. But then it started to sink in as to what I was actually dealing with, that the struggle might never end. It was too much. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to just let go of it all; end it before it ended me.

When it starts to get on top of you like this, just keep coming here and venting. It's what we're here for. Eventually, you will start to learn skills that will make living with this easier - not only for the people around you but, more importantly, for you. Just remember that AS is not everything you are. It might feel like it at times, but it really isn't. And personally, AS doesn't mean you can't do things; it just means that you have to rethink how you do them.

Hang in there my new friend. There are a few of us in the GTA if you need to get together.

Hugs,

Kat

Hi Scotty:
Don't give up. Hold on to it. Things will get better.
I've been on a roller coaster of emotion since my first symptom came out. I was going from doc to doc, getting countless of medical tests and treatment and expected that I would get better soon but I didn't.
But I believe the diagnosis is at least good. You may find your way out soon.
You can also seek some counselling or go to see a psychiatrist.
To have someone to talk ,whine helps too.
When the going gets tough , the tough get going.
Good luck.

Thank You all so much. My focus for the last two days was on my son. He had his fourth surgery at Sick Kids in Toronto for cysts under his tongue. He's doing great. I talked to my wife about how i'm feeling and we are going together to talk to my GP about it. I'll do my best to stay positive in the meantime. KickAs is a life saver. God Bless you all. Scotty...

Hi Scotty

Best wishes to your little guy and well done to you too. Talking with your wife and going together to the doc sounds like you're really fighting back. Good for you.

It's true, kickas is a lifesaver.
