If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Dan,
Yup. I get ringing on and off all the for as long as I can remember. The other thing that I hear, are crickets (in the winter!). I also get a sense of fullness in my ears like I'm getting a cold. Next day it will be all gone. I get that every couple of weeks. I have been around loud saws and machinery all my life though.

Ringin in the ears sounds a lot like like Bringing in the Years, New Years that is : ) I had that when I was on methotrexate, and so much so I had to quit it. I think I still have remnants....
Cheers,
Timo

NSAID 's cause ringing of the ears. I had it bad on Indocine. My doc told me to cut back on my dose and it helped.

I'm glad you posted about the ringing in the ears. I've had it as long as I can remember, but never thought to associate it with AS. I'm glad in a sense to know that others have experienced it and that there's just not something else wrong with me. Now I can relax because I was expecting to hear voices next . Dave

Thanks a lot! Now that you mention it I do have ringing and probably always had ringing. Now I have this to worry about on top of that stupid dog voice in my head.
Seriously though. If it really bothers you at night, you can get some kind of white noise generator maybe.

No ringin' going on in these ears. Lotsa echoing because of the enormous void between the two of 'em though. As for the hot flash thing, I always just thought that was cause I was one hot dude. Now you're tellin me it any my steamy persona, just AS. Doggone that is bad news. stevec-they also serve who stand and wait

Hi Dan,
It is possible to get the same symptoms as you are having if you are exposed to very high noise levels. I spent a fair bit of my working carreer in studying large noisey operating machinery in paper mills and ended up with enough ear damage in the speech frequencies (4K to 8K) which makes it hard for me to hear soft speaking people but the worst part is the constant muted sound of ringing with another noise that sounds like faint radio static.
A great percentage of todays teens are going to be close to deaf by the time they reach my age if they keep belting out their music at levels above 86 dbA for hours a day.
If you are frequently listening to loud music, that could be your problem.

I get the "ringing" quite often, it is terribly annoying! Sometimes it is so loud and distracting it is hard to hear anything else going on around me. It (subjective tinnitus) can be related to hearing loss (even mild--in my case probably from playing in orchestras), medication side effects, and some medical conditions (Meniere's for example). Side note: I also have an "objective pulsatile tinnitus" which is REALLY wierd but almost kinda cool! I can hear my heart beat "whistling" through my head, and so can anyone else who holds a stethoscope up to my head. I could be a big hit in a freak show! Don't try out that one though, becuase you have to have millions of MRIs, CT scans, and angiograms to rule out aneurisms, tumors, AVMs, etc. Bluck! If it is very bothersome an audiologist can do testing and fit you with a "screening" device type thing that will cancel out the shrill, brain-numbing sound. For some people just a "white noise" machine can bring some relief. 'Erie :-)
