If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi,
Has anyone here been on the Marshall Protocol that's aimed at curing the infectous cause of the disease through using Antibiotics & other meds to reduce TH1 inflammation.

My hubby did doxycycline 100mg mon-wed-fri for 3 months and did have significant improvement with his AS. For example, if he ate something mildly starchy he would be fine again within a few hours of taking the antibiotic instead of it taking a week to come right again.
However, he developed stomach problems and candida after 3 months and so he discontiued the antibiotics and it took him nearly a year to get rid of the candida (stubborn little buggers).
I think he got the candida probs because by taking the antibiotics he was able to cheat more with fringe foods for him eg chocolate. He went nuts on chocolate and sugary stuff (despite my warnings) and wasn't taking a probiotic (again despite my warnings).
So if you're thinking of taking this route I would definately take a probiotic to replenish supplies of good bacteria in the gut (which keep candida in control) and watch sugar levels in your diet.
All the best Chelsea

If I were you, I wouldn't do antibiotics. It is simply impossible to win the war against bacteria. The only way is to make peace with the friendly ones. I tried to sterilize my guts with all possible means two years ago, ended up in hospital with a Huge Crohn+AS flare. When I woke up from this I learned that fermentation is fun, and now I am doing very well.
Cheers Andreas
