Hey Tina,

I have that problem with my arms. They tingle then go numb. I currently am not on anything because of being pregnant, but I know exactly what you're talking about. My Dr's told me it was because neck had started the fusion process and every once-in-a-while it would catch some nerves and the tingling/numbness is the end result. When it does it with me, it can be in the middle of the day or at night, or just basically whenever it feels like it. I have yet to find a way to make it stop. I just hope it only lasts for 2 hours instead of 2 days.
I know this doesn't really help you, but I wanted you to know you aren't alone in this one!

I started to get ticks on an anti- inflammatory drug, I stopped it..Thank god...and everything went back to normal. The nsaid I'm taking now doesn't do that to me. You should probably consult pro advice... good luck..

I've had problems with that electric shock feeling and jerking. About a year and a half ago, it got really bad. Every time I'd start to fall asleep, I'd jerk awake so I was only getting a few hours of sleep a night, despite spending 8 or 9 hours in bed. I felt awful, tired all the time and cognitively impaired from lack of sleep.

A friend suggested I try supplementing with iron and I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. I got some gentle iron, the kind which is less likely to cause GI problems. The first day I took the iron, I slept 9 hours straight. I'm still taking the iron. I tried eliminating it a couple of months ago and the jerking came back.

I know that iron is the first line of treatment for restless legs syndrome. Although what I had wasn't exactly restless legs, it seems like a distant cousin.

I just thought I'd mention the iron as it is easy and fairly safe to try.
