If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi guys,
I had a visit with my optho again today and they dilated my eyes. That was this morningabout 10am. Here it is 12 hours later and I just looked at my eyes. One is still pretty dilated and the other one isn't. I've never noticed this happening before. What's up? Does it happen to anyone else? Thanks, Wanda

Hi Nonnie! There is quite a discussion going on right now in this forum about iritis. Here's a link: https://www.kickas.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=258887&page=1&fpart=all&vc=1You should check out the symptoms of iritis listed there. One pupil more dilated than the other is one of them. You should probably call your Optho and let him know what's going on. It's best to not take any chances with your eyes! Best wishes, Chimike

HI Chimike, I was actually just at the opthos today and she said my Iritis was clear for now. I have recurring Uveitis and have been to see her about 15 or so times in the last year. She dilated them today and did all the usual tests and then some. But she did say the inflammation was not there today. I still get occasional pain even though I'm clear. I just never noticed the pupils doing this before. One is definitely larger than the other. I do wonder if anyone else has this happen after dilation. I'll be calling in the morning if it's still the same. Thanks, Wanda

As of right now, no dilation. I'm still curious if this happens to anyone else. Thanks, Wanda

Wanda- Thanks for letting us know you're alright! I have recurring iritis and am battling a mild case right now (saw my optho for more prednisone drops last Tuesday). Although I've never experienced what you've described, it seems to me that it could still be related somehow to iritis. Perhaps the iris in one of your eyes is just slightly inflamed, while the other is not. I think you should call your optho to discuss it. Glad you're OK!! Chimike

Hi Wanda, I'd hazard a guess that you may simply have received/absorbed a bit more of the dilating medication in one eye over the other for your eye exam, which would naturally take a bit longer then in returning to normal. As I understand it, the pupil will constrict in the affected eye when enough cells become inflamed, and scarring from past attacks can also be a cause of 'sticking' in the pupil's ability to rapidly adjust to changes in light as it should. If you haven't noticed this before then I'd suspect the drop was to blame. Forcing the pupil open with dilating drops when inflammation is high is a key treatment in preventing such scarring, I believe. Chronic iritis is no fun. I've been iritis-free now for 2+ years thanks to Remicade. Hugs, mig
