So!

FIRST OFF!! I want to tell everyone that MY SISTER'S TUMOR IS SHRINKING!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all SO very much for your prayers and fairy dust and kind thoughts and good energy . . . please keep them coming, she's got a long way to go, but this is so encouraging! They did a Cat scan and it's 30% smaller than when they started the Ugly Nasty Evil Chemo Poison Cocktail.

Unfortunately, she's either had a stroke, or the cancer's moved into her brain. She'll know which one on Friday.

Moving on to my news . . .

Now my Rheumy says I DON'T need new hips, but he had a zillion x-rays done to make sure (32, to be exact; of everything, not just my hips) and to see how I've progressed in the year (and 3 days! I've survived a year and 3 days!) since my long-time boyfriend ran off with a fat girl named Bessie and broke my heart, sending me into Flarezilla, which "upped the ante" so to speak, by involving Every Joint I Never Knew Could Hurt That Bad (except my right shoulder - thank God for small blessings)and bumping the progression up as well.

So, he's gonna look at those films and tell me what he thinks. He did give me a permenent cripple-sticker order for the MVD (my old one is temporary . . . I guess he's not quite so optimistic since the Remicade didn't cure me) and ok'd me for PT, which I've been wanting, and was quite interested in the LDN and took notes about it.

Hip x-rays are SO embarassing . . . I don't know if it does this to everyone, or just me, but my flesh shows up VERY WELL in x-rays . . . those hip ones show . . . certain sillhouettes I'd rather not be showing my tall, handsome young rheumatologist (at least not unless he, like, proposes or something . . .) not to mention, the x-ray tech was very cute and flirting with me, and they're digital, so he saw every x-ray before he took the next one . . . he knows what kind of undies I was wearing today! And where every little "bulge" happens on me . . . How embarassing is that?

Anyway, there's my update . . .

,
-Bridge

Hi Bridget

I sending mor prayers and gentle thoughts, that your sisters had only a minor stroke, that the cimo theraphy continues to works.

As for your hips, you will soon lite up with all the xrays and be able to help your sister when you give her some gentle hugs.

I sure hope they find what they are looking for.

Nothing is as embarrassing, until you have children, then there is nothing sacrid. After that any question, or test just become ruoteen(sp)

Honestly though, technicians are very tight mouth around here, and watch what they say. Everyone is afraid of law-suit around here.

Many Gentle hugs are going your way

Oh Girl...lol

Quit worrying about the 1 pound of meat that you might possibly have on you...lol

Plus once you have kids all that embarrasing stuff will fly right out the window...lol

Im glad at least at this point he doesnt think you need new hips, I hated to see you go thru something like that at your age.

I am glad you will get your Handicapped sticker, mine has been a life saver.

Lisa

I am still keeping your sister in my prayers, and hopefully the news wont be too bad.

Hey Bridge, sounds like good news all around
I hope your sister gets even better news Friday, with continued "fairy dust" and positive energy, and prayers heading her way.
Great news about those hips too. Oh, and yea, nothing is sacred with AS. Those docs see every embarrasing parts we try sooooo hard to cover up. All the best fashions in the world won't hide anything from them

Bridge, do I laugh, cry, cheer or rant? I'm not quite sure after that post.

I think the x-ray position that gets me is the froggy leg one. I always feel like telling them to just put me in stirrups and do a gyn exam at the same time if they're going to expose me like that!

Now, what have we learned about x-rays and undies? Hm?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and your sis.

Many hugs,

Kat

OMG Bridge....You should write a book. You've certainly have a way with words.
I am so glad to hear you don't need new hips . Hopefully something will work for the pain.
Fingers crossed for your sister...if she is anything like you, she's a fighter. She'll be out chasing chickens with you in no time.
I have you and your family in my thoughts always and wishing for the very best for all of you.

Take care Bridge,
Sherri

Oh I can relate to the skin showing thing. I know the docs don't care, and after two kids I don't either, but when I was showing them to my dad I was like, "EEK!" Ah well..

I hope they figure out and can agree on if you need new hips or not. I had knee surgery years ago (not a replacement though) and while the PT was difficult as all get out, it was sooooo worth it! Took away all of my pain!
