Oh, Alan, I'm so sorry. I know you have mixed feelings, sorrow at his passing, and at the same time you're glad that his suffering is over. Now is the time for you and your parents to grieve, but also to get some much needed rest.
My ex-mother-in-law was sick for many years and especially so towards the end. On my way back from visiting her after she died, we were driving past Puget Sound in Washington. As I looked out over the water, a seagull was catching the air currents and it looked so peaceful. I imagined my mother-in-law doing the same, finally at peace and in no pain. I know it sounds silly, but it really made me feel better.
Please take care of yourself and your parents too. My thoughts are with you.

So sorry to read that your folk and your borhter had a week or torment leading up to his passing. Sorry to to read of your borther's passing.
He is lucky to have a brother like you who clearly cares so much. I hope your pain passes soon too. Best wishes to your family.
