Sulfsalazine works better for AS than for RA though and these are RA numbers in these reports.

MTX works well for RA but not for AS. still seems like a crapshoot to me

No families take so little medicine as those of doctors, except those of apothecaries.

my thoughts: The idea is the immunosuppressants & immunostimulant herbals work on different parts of the immune system would allow for us to be able to take zinc & vitamin C & eccinacea, et all, at the same time.

or am I totally off my rocker here?

I'm watching this thread with great interest. Trudi, that's a good question. Have no clue what the answer is. argh. I used to take Echinacea all the time, until my naturopath told me not to because of the AS. Now, I'm confused.

Molly, you are a gem for finding all of this info!

Warm hugs,

Kat

Know that Echinacea is considered a no-no with AS. Glucosomine is OK but not the E. As said, I take the zinc, Vit-C and Vit-D.

Glutarmine is recommended, but don't have thatta one yet in my long line up.

Thing I find a bore, is the empty stomach and not to mix, so have to do a.m. midday and p.m. + later p.m. with Amytriptoline and LDN being the night time ones. What a strain to keep track of....com !!

its exciting news about TwHF extract i suppose. but if you search a little bit i think you will discover that the herb is associated with a plethora of alarming and very toxic side effects. im sure someone will figure a dose that minimizes these over the long run (hopefully it will still have a therapeutic effect at a non-toxic dose).

i think we all lose our minds a little when we hear about an "herbal remedy" forgetting that some mushrooms taste good, and others will KILL you.

That's righ doh and that's what I posted on a few days ago. There are rather alarming sounding side effects to/with this TwHF extract. Scary. Me? I'm waiting for it to be perfected some afore I venture to trying it...!!

I hear you about the scheduling of pills. Then there's the whole no iron near a calcium supplement. I had one of those daily pill organizer thingmees a few years back that had compartments for morning, afternoon, evening and nighttime pills. Would have been great except I was taking so many they didn't fit into the silly little compartments!

Warm hugs,

Kat
