I am glad the stretches help you. The PT has been working on my feet for so long and she recently asked me how long it had been since I changed these shoes and inserts. I do wear other shoes too especially for dress but these are day in and day out. Come to find out, the New Balance clerk said, "We haven't made this color trim in almost 3 years." Yikes!! Time just gets away.

Wendy, that is such good news. I am so happy for you. When I go to the dr. next week, I am asking for lower dose MSContin so I can wean off of it. I just like to do that ever so often so I don't need stronger and stronger meds.

Smart and sweet guy you have there Possi. The thing is, shoes don't have to look worn down to be worn down. Any discomfort is a good sign. Replacing shoes every 6 months is not unheard of, particularly if you are wearing them frequently; if you walk or exercise in them, or if your gait is affected by your AS and makes you walk in them in a way that wears them unevenly. I might even suggest, that if you've found a shoe model that serves you well, you pick up two pair at a time, and have a spare in the closet to try if you feel any signs of discomfort. Saves getting to the point of pain before you get out to shop. In the meantime, and I'm sure you already have, give that hubby of yours a few extra hugs.  PT

Possi, what a darling and observant hubby there... Something indeed to be grateful for. So pleased for you that you had such rapid improvement! Is a reminder for me to look at some new shoes soon too. Wendy, what a rough patch! I'm glad you're starting to feel up to celebrating your awesome achievement... you certainly deserve to do so in style. I hope you can get into some of those project soon, but make sure you pace yourself!

Thank you Possi! Let me know how you get on with lowering your dose. I didn't do too badly with the tapering part - the worst of the insomnia happened when I came right off. I'm not quite as good today because, for some reason, I had trouble getting off to sleep again last night. It didn't feel like the same kind of insomnia - just busy brain - I stayed on the computer too late. So today I'm paying for it but hoping it's just a brief set back.
