Hi Paul,
I've been on Enbrel since september. My rheumy told me that I needed four places for the injections. Each leg and on each side of the stomach at twice a week.
I hope it works well for you when you get it.
Take care,
mars

Paul,

Thanks for the words of encouragement.
They demonstrated for me today. Should not have any problem. They said to rotate sites (thigh to thigh, stomach etc.) but did not say to pick out four site. Not a bad idea though.

Difference?? Not sure. My RX is 25 mg of Vioxx daily with the verbal approval to take 50 mg if needed. Lately I have had 50 mg (25 twice a day) because of the pain. The difference today........ last night I took 25 mg.....forgot about taking the other 25 today (this is rare for me to forget due to pain). I just got home from the gym.....did 1 1/2 hours in a "spin" class, and 30 more minutes on a cross trainer. (pushed myself, hehe). Anyhow, I don't feel any stiffness and pain. Again, I would be hurting more by now.

BTW - Honestly, I don't think that the drug works this fast. I think that I am just really happy today and don' t feel the pain.

The true test will be in the AM!!

Mars,
How ling did it take to feel better? I guess all people respond differently.

This AM, I'm still doing fine. I JUMPED out of bed...did some jumping jacks, and ran in place to try out the "new" body. It was great....IT FEELS GOOD>
Whatever they gave me.......give me more.

I just found out yesterday that I won't get "Enbrel" until this coming summer. The response for Enbrel is so huge. The company is backlog until then. Also they are not putting anyone else on the waiting lise. I have been on the list since last December. I just hope they don't drop me.

Hey Paul,
No, I'm not on any study. When I started taking Enbrel in september, it took two to three weeks before it started showing any results.
I have to admit that I'm feeling great now. I've been sleeping on the couch for 12 years now but instead of 4 pillows, I only have 2. I used to sleep about 2 hours a night and always in pain but now I sleep about 6 hours and guess what? NO PAIN (or almost)
I just wake up from being uncomfortable so I change position and fall asleep again.
Feel free to ask any questions you like, either through posts or PM's. That also refers to anyone who reads this post.
Take care,
mars

Hi Betty,
It took me 2-3 weeks for Enbrel to do its stuff. I was in really bad shape though. I could hardly walk on my own anymore, my hips didn't want to move. It is possible that you start feeling the effects of Enbrel right away. My rheumy said that it works differently on different people and that he has heard of some feeling better after one injection.
I really hope that you are getting the real deal. In any case, if you are feeling good today, no matter what they gave you, I agree, ''GIVE HER MORE!''
Take care and goodluck,
mars

Yes, I think you are right. I am use to exercising (biking) almost everyday and have a very active job. But normally I have stiffness or some sort of pain. Today (12 noon now), I continue to feel nothing. Crossing my fingers!!
