Pretty neat looking place. Can I come to visit. We have one very similar here in Michigan called Little Sable Point lighthouse. Its on the Lake Michigan shore, surrounded by pine trees and white sandy beaches. Very pretty. If I can find a picture, I'll post that too.

The Outer Banks are one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. I climbed the red brick one (can't remember its name right now) and saw three others, including Bodie Island, almost got stranded on Ocracoke (almost missed ferry), and flew in my very first airplane at Kitty Hawk. Thanks for bringing back fond memories!

Johnny,
I know one is at Currituck lighthouse, the next one is the one I attached, the next one Cape Hatteras and then Ocracoke. I have not seen them all but I will take pictures of them next week. I will post them here.

The Outer Banks has always been my favorite place on Earth. I used to live and work in the DC Metro area and would drive all night to pitch a tent on the sand at Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Nothing like camping out on the sandy beach and having the Atlantic sing you to sleep.

Thanks for bring up the wonderful memories.

Lovely lighthouse -
I could take a pic of a local lighthouse - if we weren"t 2 hoursdrive inland.
Although we have no lighthouse there is a place called Drayton Harbour here.
Named that during W W 2 . Apparently some POW's at singapore wanted to cause their captors some consternation, so began to refer to Draytonharbour in letters back home; these letters were of course censored, and their contents checked out for usefull intelligence.
Drayton Harbour is in fact a lookout from an elevated hilltop looking outover rolling plains.
Thought I'd throw that in.
