I start Humira this Friday, so like a good girl I've been reading through all the documentation I've been given ... there were two things in the info pack which I was pleased to see, and wanted to share! 1) In the 'read this if you have AS' section, it goes through an example day... talking about exercise, rest etc, but also eating wisely: 'Ask your doctor about a low-starch diet, which has been shown to benefit some people with AS.' 2) Useful links: yup, we're there! www.kickas.org : 'An international "virtual village" for people with AS. Good for: Getting in touch with people for real-life advice and support' I was really impressed with both of those, especially given that this is published by pharma! Now just a little nervous still about the first injection, but my eyes seem to be flaring again after a cold so hopefully I'll see results quite quickly...

That is quite interesting, I'm surprised a drug company would advertise for us. I haven't met anyone yet who knew about it...of course, I fix that problem easily enough.
The LSD thing is brilliant..."has been shown to benefit some people with AS" - end of story on that issue.
Thanks for sharing, that was quite a box to read it seems

That is indeed quite impressive!
Good luck with your first injection, will pray it helps you straight away. I got relief within 24hours!!! was so happy the morning after, got out of bed in 2seconds, as opposed to 15minuites of struggle

WOW! Roogy I am so excited by your post! To my knowledge, no one on Humira has ever mentioned this insert information about us before. I am so very impressed too!  Proof positive that www.kickAS.org is a Force! But we already knew that. An international virtual village for AS-kickin' support - yes we are! Thanks so much for posting this ground-breaking news! I was feeling quite miserable earlier thinking about how depressing it is that money comes before patients... You have made me feel like there is hope yet!!  Good luck with the injections

I phoned NASS and went on their site and I thought I might as well give up there and then!
Here there is such a positive, supportive attitude that is essential for living with AS.
