haha, yes I saw, I checked out the bay via the google satellite map! smile I thought those edges looked like lots of marshland.

Kayaks look like fun. And yeah, you wouldn't catch me out there at this time of year. I haven't tried a kayak yet as I doubt that I could actually sit in that position for long and they look alot harder to get in and out of but I should probably try it once and just find out for sure. The other benefit of canoeing is that I can let others do the paddling and take breaks.

Have fun!

i thought no way could i sit in a kayak, but its a lot like a recumbent bike and so i surprised myself, at least with the ones i've tried. and we get a tandem and i let hubby do much of the paddling smile

but its snowing here today, a few inches, 27 degrees F, so spring isn't here quite yet! soon though.

kayaking is a good way to be nice and low in the water and can sneak up on wildlife that way. then again can do that in a canoe too, just not quite as low in the water.

I must disagree about the city not being good place for bird watching. Spent many years as a child gong upstate New York annually to spend week or two at Loon Lake can't recall a single loon. Wish I could but was probably having toomuch fun boating and swimmming and being a kid.

On a daily basis in NYC courts see flocks of loons in halls courts and disguised as civil servants.

floor Many areas are very, very similar. Just today, I was marvelling at the local populations of loons on the area highways..... Was unable to accurately note their breeds, though....tinted glass.

yep, classic case of migrating road loons. It happens here every day about 7:00 a.m.
