If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

So, my sweetie and I partially crossed another hurdle in our current struggles on Friday and decamped to my mum's place with a dear friend to recoup for a couple of days.
Yesterday, she woke up and her eye was irritated and mungy. We told her to get to a doctor today (no walk-in clinics that are open on a Sunday in my mother's area). Today, she was diagnosed with viral conjunctivitis.
Since my sweetie and I are both on Enbrel, we are understandably worried. We played board games, we all handled the dog's leash, traded books, ate from the same chip bags and I held her while she wept over a personal problem late Friday night. His eye became irritated Saturday night with an infection that resembles one he had a few months ago (symptoms are not the same as pink eye). He's been using the goop he was prescribed at that time and it seems to be helping. Today, my eyes feel burny and tired. Until we come out with overt symptoms, I doubt it can be diagnosed, so I'm using a lot of hand santizer and keeping my fingers crossed, and keeping them out of my eyes (I am, of course, at work today handling all kinds of papers that other people will also handle).
The Enliven nurse told my sweetie that it could come on immediately, or wait a few months. If it does, we'll have to discontinue Enbrel until it's resolved. My eye doctor said to use cool water baths and 'Refresh' eye drops to ease the burning and wait to see what happens.
Honestly, it was already pouring ... we don't need more, erm, rain. Grr.
Not looking for sympathy here, just needed to vent.
Love and hugs,
Kat

Me too Why is it that when you least need it, something else comes piling on you? Maybe all the bad stuff is coming at once to make way for some really good stuff around the corner - let's hope you get a bit of that soon, hon

Thanks, you two. So far so good. But my sweetie is going to ER today for his eye. It got worse yesterday and just looks awful. He doesn't have the grittiness or light sensitivity usually associated with pink eye, but there's definitely something going on.
Warm hugs,
Kat

That is horrid...sorry to hear this. I cannot imagine having to quit my biologic. How long do you have to wait to know it is safe to go back to your Enbrel?? As if life isn't hard enough being sick but then to not get the medication you need besides.
Fingers crossed for you and your "sweetie"
and big hugs to you too
I can not defeat you but I will not let you win
