My brother has finally got an approval from them and is supposed to recieve money at the end of April and its been about 6 months now. He had 2 rejections then finally the third time made it. It was all in the wording of the application, Some by his Dr and some by himself.
You need to assume the very worst you have been and respond to the applications like that is the normal condition.

Hi Skywalker, I received acceptance letters from ODSP and CPPD about the same time. I got my ex doctor at the time to fill out the papers December '06. I included every doctor's reports not put in there by the doctor. I had family members write letters, psychologist, fire chief (he called me fire hazzard), social workers, rheumatologist, cardiologist, urologist, audiologist, sleep clinic etc etc. ODSP & CPPD wrote saying they received all papers by February. Sent any new doctors reports as I received them. (All doctors put down I wasn't going to get better. That I could not take medication for pain.) March '07 I received letters from both ODSP and CPPD that I was accepted for both. I didn't receive a cheque until about July 07, which I was back paid for. ODSP did take dollar for dollar for money I received from CPPD.

Hugs
Gerri

Gerr, this really ticks me off:

"ODSP did take dollar for dollar for money I received from CPPD."

The assumption is that you aren't supposed to get rich of disability. But how about letting someone just plain get ahead of their bills every so often? My sister's boyfriend is on disability, and because they live together and she has a family, they've been getting the family rate. Thank goodness, considering she wasn't able to work either for the better part of a year. Anyway, she got a job last September. It's all commission and she was in training for about 4 months, so no pay. But they told her that she'd probably be earning actual money by February. She told ODSP and they started docking her boyfriend's cheques in November because she might maybe earn money in February. The system is warped beyond belief.

Skywalker, good luck with it. I hope they treat you fairly.

Hugs,

Kat
