I know, I just got a new script from my GP. It sure helps when you are hurting. I went to see him about getting stronger pain meds and leave with a script for Pred. I know that the Pred will be better for me then going on to stronger opiates then the Norco I am taking now.

Sorry to read that your birthday has you mired in the midst of such a series of AS related pains.

I wish I had some wisdom or just the right idea to offer you more than my meager bit of support but I am among the many ASKickers out here hoping you start feelin' better soon.

P.S. If you don't then unoload as much as the aggravation as you can by sanctioning Alan as often as possible for his patantly nebulous concept associations. As a wise man once said if you can't beat AS then make everyone else around you just as miserable. Actually Bruno said it but it works for me on crappy cays.

Oh, Steve, you made me chuckle. All of you make me smile. Cyberhugs are good, too.

DH had his 5th and final Cyberknife radiation treatment today. His mood is better now that he's done, but he's very tired. Now we wait to see what good has come of the treatments. I THOUGHT it would be pretty quick, but turns out that it takes months for the PSA to go down all the way since radiation only messes with the division of the tumor cells. So it takes them a while to finally kick off. "Instant" gratification on that would be awesome, but alas, there is no "instant" in radiation treatment.

Ya know, maybe I'll ask the pain doc about home ultrasound at my next visit in October. Or maybe just PT ultrasound, for a start. My only problem with ultrasound at the PT office is that my pain is usually worst after I get off work at midnight...most all PTs are closed then. ohwell (darn the luck--LOL) Maybe that would be a plus for 'home ultrasound'.

It's been a little better this week since I've not been at work. Part of my reasoning for staying home was to take care of DH: helping with meals, etc, along with keeping him calmer and emotionally more stable. Part of it was to rest myself because I was so sore from working while off all my meds. It has helped.

And yes, stress is probably doing bad stuff to me. On the good side, DH is MUCH better today (24 hrs after last treatment), both calmer and happier. But exhausted, too.

Rumble,
remember, that many of us are thinking about your heavy load every day. When I was younger I would push and climb the canyon river until I was exhausted - it really did reduce my pain to a whisper,,,, but I can not get to a good work out now.

much love my friend,
Lon

DH is doing much better...outlook is improving every day since his last radiation visit. He's getting another PSA done on Monday, hope it's at least lower than the last one. I had 3 levels of facet injections on Friday and I'm pretty stiff today. Didn't sleep well, either. Going to crawl into recliner and watch the hurricane on Weather Channel. LOL.

Back to work Monday, then having bilateral radiofrequency ablation on SI joints again on Friday. It worked great the first time, but pain doc told me that it often needs redone at about 6 months. Usually, she wouldn't do both sides at one time because of the number of needle sticks, but she's going to do both sides so I don't have to drag out the recovery over 6 weeks (since I've been so blasted by pain lately). Going to start steroids the day before, so hopefully this won't be hugely painful. Looking forward to the relief afterwards. Starting Enbrel in a couple of weeks, too, hopefully. Last time I planned to start, I ended up on antibiotics for 3 months for an abscess.

Thanks for the encouragement, Lon. Have a blessed Sunday.
