Hello Naushad,

I think we all react differently to pain meds and we take a variety of meds. I have changed mine at times because either I find I need something that works better or I start reacting differently. I think it will be just what your dr. approves and what works for you. Definitely if it isn't working, call or see your dr.

Hope you get some relief.

Since much of my pain is muscle spasms, i take zanaflex (a muscle relaxant) right before bed. While not a pain killer per se, it helps my kind of pain.

For me the best "pain" treatment is actually antiinflammatory treatment. If inflammation is under control, then pain diminishes greatly. I'd always go for that first. A full nights sleep for me is often more problem that good - because I can't turn without waking up, and therefore tend to sleep in the same position all night, if I sleep too long I will just end up waking up so stiff and sore it cancels out any benefits. I now plan a bathroom trip in the middle of the night, and that really helps avoid stiffness. If I am really having difficulties getting off to sleep, like Sue, I will take a muscle relaxant. In my case diazepam 2 mg is as good as anything, because I seldom take it, so 2 mg works fine.
