If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to know if anybody here has had any trouble with almond milk. I had a a mixed berries smoothie with almond milk and the next day I had really bad back pain. Also, has anyone had any flaring problems with oregano oil?

I haven't had any problems but I make my own in a Vitamix blender so almonds are the only thing in the end result.

Thanks so much for replying Timo, I will go ahead and make my own almond milk. I have another question, has anyone had any problems with agave syrup?

If you don't have time to make your own almond milk, the Organic 365 almond milk at Whole Foods (if you have one near you) has never made me flare up. If you can't find that, then look for organic almond milk with only a few added ingredients. I would suggest not using agave as it has a high glycemic level (similar to fructose). Go for the coconut nectar instead. If you need more options, I did a blog post on sugar alternatives: http://100percenthealth.us/food/sugar-alternatives/

Did you buy it? I have had problems with store bought nut milks, and I believe it to be because of the guar gums and carageenan, or however one spells it!

Jan,
Yep, I use it everyday for over a year now. Potential dangers in the organic almond milk could be gellan and xanthan gum - no guar gums or carrageenan.
Like I mention to most about fringe foods, try to find the organic products with simple ingredients 1st. If you flare, then try making it yourself. If you still flare, don't take it for at least a year or two or when you know your system has been back to normal for awhile.

I always and only make my own fresh almond milk, I believe stablizers and perservatives can taint and ruin the milk. Fresh raw almond milk is a simple yet decadent treat for me, especially with raw cacao and date sweetened! I also make it into fudgesicles, like frozen popscicles, yum!!
Also in my experience, agave = bad. When I read it can feed klebsiella like wild fire, I instantly made the correlation and completely cut it out of my diet. Something to do with it being a FOS prebiotic that klebs love to feed on. I have no issues with maple syrup, honey, coconut sugar, or dates, thank goodness!

I'm now a KICK AS (and Kick IBD) success story!! After going low starch Paleo to heal my gut, I can now eat nearly all starches, grains & foods without inflammation, flare-ups, or pain. I used a modified SCD diet approach (minus dairy! plus cacao ♥). Cheers to healing & thriving again! I blog at http://www.forestandfauna.com/about/
