If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

The reason for the in poor readings is because the schools do not teach reading for arthritic changes well enough. I too have had x-rays read as normal and when I brought the same x-rays to Dr. Reveille, he said my SI joints were pretty much gone grade 3/4 and 4/4. The same x-rays were sent off to Los Angeles when I join the AS study and I ask for the results and they were inline with what Dr. Reveille had told me and not the radiologist. More often then not, the rheumy is better trained to read your x-rays than any other radiologist.

Well, at least I found doctors that go by symptoms making the radiology thing a moot point in my case.

One thing I found interesting after my DX in 86 and thereafter being repeatedly denied (to having AS) by other Doctors, I turned to a Chiro as suggested by a few people.
As many Chiros do, he did a full set of x-rays AND immediately told me he wouldn't touch me. HE saw issues and told me I appeared to have AS....how funny that the medical community casually denied me but here is one field many MDs don't believe in that openly told me I had it.
I have to agree that some reports are very basic and others dive far more into detail that can strongly cause a very different treatment path.
A few years ago I had a foot injury and the Radiologist report was very basic. In the last few months I have been all over the Internet and found two issues on my films that were never noted. One was a fracture of the Talus and the other, a Heel Spur. The Orthopedic Surgeon did reference the Talus fracture but not the heel spur. I compared a number of photos on the internet to the films to confirm what I was seeing. What I find amusing is the Ortho guy even dismissed the Talus fracture as being much of an issue but THAT is mentioned by SSA as an impairment (interfering with the ability to ambulate effectively) - go figure!

You've just made me realise that I had the same thing. My chiro at the time (about five years ago) flatly refused to do any kind of manipulation after he saw mine, though didn't go so far as to say what it was. I wish I could get hold of those xrays now, as they are the only set I've had done of full spine, but in the UK chiros have to hold xrays for 7 years, and I could only "borrow" them if a doctor requested them. As none of my docs are interested in my full spine thats a no-go.

I actually was very surprised to hear him say it looked like AS but he said that could have been very dangerous to have any work done where the bones were showing inflammation so he suggested I return to my MD for treatment.
That of course was in vain as the current MD didn't even want to look at any of the previous tests because I wasn't bent over or in a wheel chair so as they commented, it was clear I didn't have AS - that was the overall mentality of the doctors I encountered for about 10 years until I gave up mentioning AS to anyone else until 2010 when they found my neck was ridden with inflammation and bony growth at C2-T1.
