If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I have tried Humira in the past and it was very helpful. I went off of it to have my two youngest children and to breastfeed them. I am having trouble getting into the rheumatologist so I have not gone back on it. It worked so well before Humira I could not ever vacuum or mop at all without being is severe pain for awhile. Luckily I have felt better the past few years. I just can't exercise and I would like to try exercising again.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for injecting the pen? Do you grab some fat on your stomach? Do you inject in your leg?
Thanks After a few injections into my legs, I switched to injecting my stomach. It was way better. Grab fat, deep inhale in though nose, click pen while exhaling though mouth. No fuss, no muss.

Hi Paul I am aged 60, extremely fit and have played active sport all my life and hike with heavy packs. I suffered AS from the age of 25 until 57 when I started taking Humira. I had all the usual AS side effects you were talking about and life as you know it can be unfair and fairly miserable with AS. Since taking Humira my life changed dramatically to the point where I now have a normal life. Don't hesitate and take the Humira, I have tried all the cosmic alternatives and unfortunately the chemical company won again.
Cheers Alan

Alan,
Thank you so much for your response, I appreciate it. I do have a ton of concerns, but I am glad to have yet another push - i mean why wouldn't I at least try it right?!
I would give anything to have my active lifestyle back and be happy again. It's been tough as you know, but I sure hope that Humira will have the same effects as it has on you.
How have you found the effectiveness over the years?? Has it changed at all? Have you had any flare ups since starting Humira?
Thanks, Paul

I was also wondering: which supplements do you all reccommend while taking Humira? Are there any immunity supplements or vitamins I should consider?
I am starting treatment tomorrow!

I am starting treatment tomorrow! My rheumy told me to continue my vitamin C: 500 mg tablets, twice a day. I'm also on Low Dose Naltrexone that I started initially instead of the Humira; my rheumy let me stay on that. My immune system seems as good on the Humira as it did before Humira. I don't know if its the vitamin C, the LDN, both, or neither. Plenty of sleep, exercise, healthy food, all contribute to a healthy immune system as well.

Spondyloarthropathy, HLAB27 negative Humira (still methylprednisone for flares, just not as often. Aleve if needed, rarely.) LDN/zanaflex/flector patches over SI/ice vits C, D. probiotics. hyaluronic acid. CoQ, Mg, Ca, K. chiro walk, bike no dairy (casein sensitivity), limited eggs, limited yeast (bread)
