Is there any reason not to do the apple diet for 4 days instead of 3? The reason I ask is that on the scehdule I was going to begin, the third day falls on a day when I have a lot of meetings. It would be difficult to bring olive oil. It would be difficult to have to run to the bathroom in the middle of things -- as it were.

So...

If I make it a 4 day diet, the following day is actually a good one for me time-wise. Is there anything magical about the three days or should 4 work just as well?

TIA

Hi, Adam:

There seems to be nothing at all magical about three days; I think that beyond that there are diminishing returns, but certainly no danger and probably enough more benefit to notice. There are some of us who have gone five and more days even, but beyond this may not be so healthy as the apple regimen is a sort of general backwash that includes electrolytes.

Hope you have great results and please let us know one way or the other,

John

Hi Adam,

This weekend I am finishing up my 3rd 3 day apple diet (first since August). Was probably too aggressive with my healing and just after posting how well I was doing I developed a very tender spot in upper back and had some mild low back pain. This afternoon started in on the olive oil (do not look forward to that). But the 3 day apple diet has done its trick again, feeling very good again.

I usually start the diet on a Friday and finish on a Sunday.

Take care,

Tim
