I really feel for you Bruce.
I know the agony of the waiting to hear back from the tests. My oldest son developed AS at the age of 15 and I felt devastated and guilty and everything else that goes through ones mind. Just watching him cope with it almost tore me apart. To my surprise, he did cope with it. He decided that AS wasn't going to stop him from whatever he wanted to do and he succeeded.
It made me feel so good when years later, my son said to others that coping with AS wasn't that difficult as he had a good teacher.
Whatever happens with your daughter and the chips don't fall exactly where you want them, don't forget, she has a good teacher.
Hopefully Bruce, this will turn out to be something else and life will go on as normal and this episode will only be a slight jog in the sometimes scary road we follow in raising a child.

I'm so very sorry about your daughter, Bruce. My thoughts and prayers are with you and her, and the rest of the family. My own daughter was dxd almost 10 years ago with UC, and has been suffering many flares and set-backs ever since. She also has "possible AS", and gets many of the typical joint, etc. problems that go with it. It's bad enough to have to live with this wretched disease ourselves, but 1000 times worse having to watch our children suffering......... Hopefully, if they've caught it early enough, the treatment will arrest it's progression, and the disease may be under control. Your daughter might not need to be on MTX for too long. Hello Bruce... Just wanted to offer my cyber-support ...I am sure it has been very difficult watching your daughter go thru this and the testing. I wish her the very best and pray that it is nothing serious. If it is AS.....thank God she has a Dad like you who is knowledgeable of this disease. Take care and please keep us posted.. Buggy

Hey George , You are right the AS will try to take over your life and we have to figure a way not to let it ! My daughter has very strong will and can be very focused on a task so those traits should help with any problems she has . Thanks for the kind words and help . Talk Later. Bruce
