I know exactly what you mean about people pushing alcohol on someone. Someone very close to me, when I was young and in so much more pain from AS, used to always push drinks on me. I was dealing with the SI joints fusing and excruciating sciatica pain. This person thought drinking would be a great answer to killing my pain. Well I have to say, I was very tempted. I was tempted because no doctor was able to diagnose me or help with the pain. I knew it would be too easy to get into the habit of drinking to kill the pain and that alone scared me as I had two small children to raise.
So the stubborn bull just said SNORT! NO! and took up another habit instead, M&M's
I've since kicked that monkey off my back, whew!
