I found out last fall I have a heart valve problem - - nothing major, or at least not at this point. Slight leakage. Means antibiotics for dental work. But the reason they were investigating my heart was because of rapid pulse and at times dangerous rises in blood pressure - - during exercise usually. The heart racing, however, could happen even without exercise. I'm on a very low does BP med and it's controlling both the whacky BP rises and the racing heart. I also am now drinking decaf which probably helped. Have you been told to avoid caffeine? My mom, who does not have AS, does have this heart racing (also irregular heartbeat) problem, has had it for years off and on, and avoids caffeine. Might also take something for it, I'm not sure. When they were evaluating me last year they sent me for an ultrasound of my heart -- whcih showed the leaky valve problem - - also had me wear a heart monitor for 24 hours which gave a history of how my heart was beating over that space of time. Maybe it's time you saw a cardiologist????? Might be nothing, might be something, but best to know.
