I do understand that many, including myself, get frustrated with doctors who don't fully understand AS. there has been no evidence of any link between vaccinations and this disease.
As Hepatitis B is a required vaccine now for schooling, it would be easy to link that vaccine, or any other, with any given disease a child develops.
Also, MMR is not given at 6 months of age. The first dose is given at no earlier than 12 months, with the second no sooner than four years of age.
Most vaccines are given during the first years of life, as you said, because of the end of mom's immunity, but also because we need to give kids immunity before they start coming into daily contact with others who might spread these dangerous diseases.
For anybody who wants to learn more about vaccines, here are a few websites:
http:// www.cispimmune.org http:// www.paaap.org/immunize http:// www.vaccine.chop.edu http:// www.vaccinesafety.edu http:// www.immunizationinfo.org You'll notice I left off the CDC and WHO, not because I don't believe them, but because they've already been posted.
