I took salazopyrin many years ago and stopped using NSAIDs in 1997, not long after going starch free. I was feeling good on the diet so first I reduced the indomethacine and then stopped it. NSD and medication can be used together. Some people improve with the diet but still require some meds. See how it goes - if you feel better with the diet gradually reduce the pills. If you can get off them altogether it's a great bonus. You may even find the diet helps the Crohn's more than the AS.
