Hey Jill how's it going? Well had my post op appointment with my surgeon today, interesting turn of events. He was pleased with my progress so far, but, then he said there was something he needed to discuss, he didn't want to bring it up until this appointment. He said the bone, femur, that supported the part of the prothesis he took out, was really soft

His concern now is the posibility of osteoporosis, I'm too young for this

, so we set up the scan for that. I guess he now realizes that the AS is a reality since that happens to be a complication of AS especially in the more advanced AS. Boy this came out of left field. Anyway, always something, I need to work hard to get more range of motion before he gets home in 2 weeks so he doesn't have to put me back in and manipulate it. He decided to leave the staples in this 12" incision for another week, my incisions have a tendency to open if they are taken out too soon. We still won't know for at least a month if this whole thing worked. I also started therapy today with my "work buddies" and they are taking good care of me.
I hope all is well with you

Cindy
