Ooh! penance, that's a good one. I think the needle slid across the old eyeball qualifies. Oddly enough I just did an apple fast 2-3 weeks ago. I think it was just the plain over indulgence plus I too much dairy, which I am also trying to avoid. Cheese and ice cream, Yum!
If I am ever dumb enough to end up with a big flare again I think I will try your regimen. Shorter stronger duration seems to make sense.
