my midwife said I was in ketosis because I wasn't eating enough protein... I was doing the high grain starch foods.. bread & potatoes...
I wouldn't let that article freak you out. That is waaaay to much of the wrong kind of carbs and too much bread/pasta/potatoes contributes to diabetes too... I have heard many moms with gestational diabetes being told that they need to eat more of those things if they get diabetes!! crazy!! fruits & veggies are GOOD CARBS and should be eaten as much as possible to give your baby the health it needs.
also look at the serving sizes for the wheat products: 1 oz is not a lot really. And you can get the essential minerals from a good fish oil/nuts. I used wheat germ as a protein source.
Studies have shown that babies come out smarter if their moms supplemented with fish oil during pregnancy & lactation!
