I should have added that in the thousands of throat swabs and sputums I've cultured it is very rare to get any Proteus mirabils. Even at low levels it is obvious because of it's tendency to swarm on blood agar.
Pm has a fairly standard sensitivity pattern. Stragely one of the antibiotics that Pm is always resistant to is Tetracycline (and hence Minocycline). Ironically Tetacycline was the drug of choice for Dr Brown's attack on the Mycoplasma!
