from what I've read about salmonella is that it is a naturally occuring bacteria in the intestines of chickens and the addition of antibiotics has created it into being a monster.
Our guts are so weakened, we get sick from it now. Same goes with ecoli, et al. We sterilize too much and now it is biting us in the butt. Raw milk has components in it to keep us safe, but sterilization nullifies it. There was a time that process was needed, but no longer. I wish the 'powers that be' would make some drastic changes for the health of our people and stop living in fear.
I've always eaten raw eggs (cookie dough, in my smoothies, etc. and I LIKE runny yolks which= raw) and I've never gotten sick.
My farm girl days were not quite sanitary as we played 'toss the cow chip' in the barns, walked barefoot in the animal pens and didn't wash hands after handling animals, chickens, dirt, etc. Heck, who has time to run in the house all the time to wash when the cucumber is right there, in the garden waiting to be gobbled?!
I was a SUPERBLY healthy child and was rarely sick.
