Beloved,
Greetings from the land of snow, and antelope.
I would appreciate your prayers, tomorrow I will be going in for injections in my lower back. They are looking at my lumbar & a thoracic facets. He mentioned doing five on both sides. Physical therapy just made the pain intense. Most men fuse at the top of the spine, mine has always been lower back and outer joints. I have three lower joints fused so if I need surgery it could be up to 8 fused.. I know some of you have had it much worse than I do. Dr. is talking about an “ all day surgery, titanium, screws, the whole works”. I am supposed to wait until I just can not stand it . It has been a real strain on my pedigree.
I am thankful I am able to work part time, though I am not very good at my job anymore. I am tired of not feeling anything in my hands or such stinking pain down my legs and in the small of my back. I fear having this much pain and being forced to sit in a chair when I am old….. For now I do everything I can. I fell backwards off the 4=wheeler, as I was loading it into my F150. The ramps slide on the ice, the 4-wheeler fell to the ground. it knocked the wind out of me. But my bones are strong. I got double hamstring Charlie Horse a few weeks ago when I was speaking. I walked like I had a five gallon bucket between my legs. I tried to save a German Shorthair From the pound last month. Early morning when I walked her in the dark, she would literally pull me uphill on the icy streets. She would get lose from me, run for blocks come running back, stop to lick my face and be gone while I was trying to bend over to reach her collar. I would be calling her name at 6 in the morning, looking one way and she would come from behind me, cause she had jumped every fence in the neighborhood and made a circle,
It is funny how I could wrestle with my red head grand kids in Kansas City during Thanksgiving, but 20 minutes later was nearly in tears cause of the pain. I can slowly put a snow blade on the 4-wheeler, but I can’t bend over to pick up something from the floor. I can lift the kids at church when they run up to me for a hug, but if I drop a dollar bill at the check out counter after shopping for 15 minutes, I can just barely reach down to get it.
Thanks for listening. I can not keep up with everyone, but would gladly help you with aspecific problem if I could.
I LOVE THIS PLACE, because you are here.
Br’er Lon
Oh, yea, the surgeon had the audacity to say that I might want to lose some weight…… what does he know????
