I have to take a flu shot every year for work (hospital) and it is not a live virus vaccine. Like Drizzit says, the Flumist (nasal vaccine) IS a live virus and is contraindicated in people on immune suppressants.
Might be that the pharmacist only had the Flumist available to him since he might not be approved to give injections. I saw the sign up in my pharmacy that they were approved to give the Flumist, but nothing indicating they were able to give injections.
DX: Psoriatic Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Psoriasis
Meds: MTX since Oct 2009, 15mg/week. Cimzia-restarted after 2 yrs away.
Epidural Steroid Injections x8; Lumbar Radiofreq Ablation x2
SIJ Steroid Injection x3; Bilateral Radiofreq Ablation SIJ x9
