I wouldn't be surprised if it was a different microbe and not the klebs. But either way, I know it has the gut flora as one of the central causes in this (the gene alone is not enough to give you AS). My experiences with antibiotics and also with fasting proved overwhelmingly to me that diet and gut flora were the key.

I haven't told you guys, but I previously had thought you all were "off with the fairies" in thinking diet had anything to do with AS. How wrong I was. Fasting and antibiotics both proved I was wrong, then trying the no starch diet gave further confirmation.

No doubt. These weed microbes are tough sons of ... and will certainly produce toxic compounds to try and kill of their competition. And we can guess what those compounds will do to our gut health.
